Mission
Suffield Academy is a coeducational independent secondary school serving a diverse community of boarding and day students. Our school has a tradition of academic excellence combined with a strong work ethic. A commitment to scholarship and a respect for individual differences guide our teaching and curriculum. We engender among our students a sense of responsibility, and they are challenged to grow in a structured and nurturing environment. The entire academic, athletic, and extracurricular experience prepares our students for a lifetime of learning, leadership, and active citizenship.Location

Academic
The school occupies 19 major buildings, including:- Memorial: the main classroom building, which houses a computer resource center with a multimedia classroom, desktop publishing center, printing stations, and a repair facility
- Holcomb Science Center: contains ten “clabs”—classrooms with labs in them—a living wall, a large-scale interactive periodic table, and beautiful views of campus
- S. Kent Legare Library: houses 20,000-volumes, a multimedia center, Tisch Auditorium, and computer resources that include 55 Internet drop sites located throughout the library
- The Jeanice H. Seaverns Performing Arts Center: a multipurpose facility that includes a 200-seat theater, an art gallery, a music building with practice rooms, and practice space for Suffield's dance program
- The Emily Hall Tremaine Visual Arts Center: a multipurpose art studio, ceramics studio, woodworking shop, graphics lab, photography lab, library office, and gallery
- Centurión Hall: an academic building housing classrooms for leadership, math, and history courses
Athletic
With more than 45 interscholastic teams, as well as various other athletics options, all students participate in sports on a level of competition that matches individual experience and ability. Athletics at Suffield stress good sportsmanship, acquisition of skills, and leadership development.- Tisch Field House: a beautiful 30,000 square foot facility housing a swimming pool, two courts for basketball, tennis, and volleyball, athletic offices, and four new squash courts
- The Sherman Perry Gymnasium: houses a fitness center and weight room, trainers' room, and facilities for basketball, wrestling, volleyball, swimming, and crew
- Courtney Robinson '88 Outdoor Leadership Center (The SOLO Barn): includes a 35-foot indoor rock climbing facility and a new high ropes course. The SOLO Barn also houses the growing supply of gear we use in our program, including canoes, kayaks, snowshoes, skis, stoves, tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, rock shoes, and harnesses
- Squash center with eight international courts
- Facilities for skiing (Nordic and Alpine), snowboarding, and golf are available nearby
- The Balance Barn: a new lifestyle center offering yoga, meditation, Pilates, and barre classes
